This is a commemorative Sesquicentennial medal released for the US Military Academy's (West Point) 150th anniversary in 1952. The sesquicentennial celebration in 1952 was quite a big deal and numerous unique items were given out to alumni and other important guests of the celebration.
This bronze medallion is roughly 2 inches in diameter and has some serious weight to it!
It's outer edge is stamped "Medallic Art Co. NY" and has gained a very nice patina over the last 60+ years.
